Sulfur Guard Bed Adsorbent
BASF D-1275 is a Nickel basedadsorbent whichprovides efficient removal of trace levels of sulfur fromfeeds to naphtha reformers and isomerization units.
BASF D1275 is produced asstar-shaped extrudates witha nominal diameterof 1/16” (1.6 mm). It is delivered pre-reduced andpassivated.

Product Applications
Removal of various sulfur species (H2S, COS, mercaptans, sulfides, disulfides and thiophenes) from feed streams used innaphtha reformers. The naphtha typically comes from anHDS unit equipped with a stripper, orfrom hydrocrackers.
Removal of various sulfur species(mercaptans, sulfides) from feedstreams to isomerization units.
Pre-Treatment
Prior to start-up, the bed must be activated by removing the passivation. This can be performed by using the feed tobe treated (hot oil activation). Maximumperformance can be achieved by using a hydrogen containing stream attemperatures of 150 –180°C.
